POOL WATER BALANCE

LOW PH

Low pool pH can make the water uncomfortable and may contribute to corrosion or damage to pool equipment and surfaces. Test the water and raise the pH gradually before swimming.

Raise the pH Restore the water to the recommended range.
Improve Swimmer Comfort Help reduce irritation caused by unbalanced water.
Protect Pool Equipment Reduce exposure to overly acidic water.
Restore Water Balance Create suitable conditions for regular pool maintenance.

PRODUCTS TO CORRECT AND MAINTAIN LOW PH WATER

Raise the pH first, then retest the chlorine and continue normal maintenance.

HOW TO RAISE LOW POOL PH

Raise the pH gradually and retest the water between treatments to avoid increasing it too far.

  1. Test the water

Measure both the pH and chlorine before adding any product.

  2. CONFIRM THE POOL VOLUME

Check the pool volume so the treatment dose can be calculated accurately.

  3. ADD PH PLUS

Apply CrystaLux pH Plus according to the dosage and application instructions on the label.

  4. RUN THE FILTRATION

Circulate the water so the treatment can disperse evenly.

  5. RETEST THE PH

Wait for the circulation period shown on the product label, then test the water again.

  6. CHECK THE CHLORINE

After the pH is balanced, confirm the chlorine is also within the recommended range.

Never mix pH Plus directly with chlorine or other treatments. Handle and store each chemical separately.

Treatment timeline

HOW LONG DOES LOW PH TAKE TO CORRECT?

The pH may require more than one controlled adjustment depending on the starting level and pool volume.

  • After the first dose

    CIRCULATE THE WATER

Run the filtration system so the product mixes throughout the pool.

  • After the label-stated waiting period

    RETEST THE PH

Check the water before deciding whether another treatment is needed.

  • Once the pH is balanced

    CHECK ALL LEVELS

Confirm the chlorine and pH are suitable before allowing anyone to swim.

PROTECT YOUR POOL WATER

KEEP THE PH FROM DROPPING AGAIN

Routine testing helps prevent prolonged exposure to acidic water and avoids large chemical corrections.

  • Test the pH Regularly Identify a falling pH before it becomes a larger problem. 2–3× WEEKLY
  • Check After Heavy Rain Rain and water replacement can change the pool’s balance. PROMPTLY
  • Avoid Excess Acid Treatment Calculate pH Minus carefully and retest before adding more. EVERY TREATMENT
  • Make Gradual Corrections Use controlled doses rather than trying to correct the entire reading at once. AS NEEDED
  • Investigate Repeated Drops Persistent low pH may indicate that the wider water balance needs testing. IF RECURRING
