CrystaLux pH Increaser is sodium carbonate (soda ash) granules formulated to lift pool and spa pH back into the comfort zone of 7.2 to 7.6. Low pH is the silent destroyer of pool equipment, makes chlorine over-aggressive, and turns swims into eye-stingers. A small dose of pH Increaser, dispersed evenly, restores balance fast.
How to Use
1. Test pH and total alkalinity. Target pH 7.2 to 7.6, total alkalinity 80 to 120 ppm.
2. Pre-dissolve in a bucket of pool water before adding.
3. Add slowly with the pump running, distributed around the perimeter.
4. Wait 4 to 6 hours, retest, and dose again if needed.
Routine dose: 100g per 10,000L typically lifts pH by approximately 0.2 units. Always retest before adding more.

How do I know I need pH Increaser?
Test your water with a quality test kit. If pH reads below 7.2 you need pH Increaser. Symptoms of low pH include stingy eyes, corroded metal fittings, etched plaster, and aggressive chlorine smell.
How long does it take to work?
pH typically stabilises 4 to 6 hours after dosing with the pump running. Always wait this long before retesting and adding more.
Can I add too much?
Yes. Over-dosing pushes pH above 7.6, where chlorine becomes less effective and water can turn cloudy. Dose conservatively, retest, then add more if needed.
Is this the same as alkalinity increaser?
No. pH Increaser (sodium carbonate) raises pH and slightly raises alkalinity. Alkalinity Increaser (sodium bicarbonate) raises alkalinity primarily with a smaller pH effect. Most UK owners only need pH Increaser unless alkalinity is specifically low.
Can I use this in a hot tub?
Yes. Use the same target range (pH 7.2 to 7.6) and dose at approximately 10g per 1,000L of spa water as a starting point. Always retest before re-dosing.
