CrystaLux Shock Granules are a fast-acting chlorine shock treatment for pools and hot tubs. Use after heavy bathing, storms, hot weather, low chlorine readings or early signs of cloudy or green water. The granules rapidly raise free chlorine, oxidise organic contaminants and help restore water clarity when used as directed.
How to Use
1. Test your water first. Aim for pH 7.2 to 7.6 before shocking.
2. Pre-dissolve granules in a clean bucket of pool water. Always add granules to water, never water to granules.
3. Add slowly around the pool or spa with circulation running.
4. Run filtration for at least 4 to 8 hours, or overnight for cloudy water.
5. Retest before bathing. Do not use the water until free chlorine has returned to the safe range stated on the product label.
Guide dose: 150g per 10,000 litres for a standard shock treatment. For hot tubs, dose only to the level shown on your label and test strips, because small water volumes can overshoot quickly.

When should I use shock granules?
Use shock granules when chlorine has dropped too low, after heavy bathing, after hot weather or rain, when water starts turning cloudy, or when you need a stronger clean-up dose before returning to routine chlorine care.
Can I use shock granules in a hot tub?
Yes, if your hot tub manufacturer allows chlorine shock products. Hot tubs are small water volumes, so dose carefully, circulate well, and always test before bathing. Do not use the water until chlorine has returned to the safe range on your test kit and product label.
Is this the same as Stabilised Chlorine Granules?
No. Stabilised Chlorine Granules are for routine sanitising and outdoor chlorine protection. Shock Granules are for rapid chlorine boosting and oxidising contaminants when water needs a stronger reset. Do not mix the two products together in dry form or in the same dosing container.
Can I swim straight after shocking?
No. Run filtration, allow the treatment to circulate, then retest. Only use the pool or hot tub when free chlorine has returned to the safe range stated on your product label and test kit.
Will shock granules fix a green pool on their own?
Shock granules are a key part of green pool recovery, but they work best with brushing, filtration, correct pH, and algaecide where needed. For visible algae, brush surfaces first, shock the water, run filtration, then clean or backwash the filter.
