CrystaLux Algaecide is a concentrated polymeric formula that helps control common pool and spa algae types: green, mustard, and the stubborn black variety. Use weekly as a preventative or as a curative when chlorine alone is not winning the battle. Non-staining, non-foaming, copper-based.
How to Use
Weekly preventative: 100ml per 10,000L of pool water, added with pump running.
Curative on outbreak: 250ml per 10,000L, brush walls and floor, run pump 24 hours, retest chlorine and adjust.
1. Test water chemistry first. Aim for pH 7.2 to 7.6, free chlorine 1 to 3 ppm.
2. Measure required dose. Pour slowly into the deepest end of the pool with pump running.
3. Run filtration for 24 hours.
4. For visible algae, also raise free chlorine to 5 to 10 ppm with shock granules.
FAQ
My pool is already green, what do I do?
Brush walls and floor, shock with chlorine granules to lift free chlorine to 5 to 10 ppm, add the curative algaecide dose, run filtration for 24 hours, then backwash or clean filter and retest. Repeat if green tint remains.
Will this stain my pool liner?
No. CrystaLux Algaecide is copper-free, the most common cause of liner staining. It is safe on vinyl, fibreglass, plaster and tile.
Why is my algaecide foaming?
Cheap algaecides foam because of poor surfactant chemistry. CrystaLux Algaecide is a non-foaming polymer formula. If you see foam, suspect contamination or another product in the water.
How often do I need to dose?
Weekly preventative dosing during the swim season is the easy answer. Skip the shock-and-emergency cycle by staying ahead of it.
Is this safe for hot tubs?
It is compatible with most spas. Always check your spa manufacturer's chemical list, dose at half the pool rate, and avoid use immediately before or after a draining cycle.
